Sneaking in between regular posts...
Last day for preorder AND can you help with some title ideas?
I am sneaking in between my regular monthly posts for two reasons…
This is your last day to preorder LORD SOMERTON’S HEIR for just 99c. It goes live tomorrow, and the price will go to the RRP of $5.99. For those who subscribe to Amazon KU, you will be able to download and read it as part of your subscription and in other news… the print book will be available shortly (there is always a bit of a lag). I have no news on the audio yet… but stay tuned.
For fans of Harriet… some good news. THERE IS A NEW SERIES COMING. I am currently working on what I am thinking of as the ‘transition novella’ but more on that later. I need your help!!! For various reasons I am considering titling the new series THE HARRIET AND CURRAN MYSTERIES. I know that sounds lame but the names, I hope, are identifiable, and it signals it is now a two hander… but I am open to other suggestions. BUT where I really need some guidance is around linking the titles. I fell accidentally into the gemstone theme for the first series. With a new series I feel it needs a fresh link (and one I can work into the book if neccessary - some of the gemstones were a bit of a stretch!). Think of JD Robb’s “… In Death” titles or CS Harris’s Who…, What…, When…, etc. I feel a link makes the series more memorable and cohesive. Again, I am completely open to suggestions… what would work for you— the reader!
And here is a tantalising hint of what to expect in the first book. It will hopefully out by Christmas (as it has a Christmas setting!) but I’m not committing to a date just yet.
My regular missive will be out next week… and then I am off to the US of A!
Best wishes
When I lived in Singapore, I was fascinated by the diversity of the people. It was a melting pot of ethnicity and most everyone got along. I could see a series of titles utilizing that theme. The Thief from Johor, The Tamil Traitor, The Royal Messenger, The Chinese Boxer, The Shah’s Puzzle, The Assassin from Penang, etc.
I loved Singapore and I wish I could return. Of course, it’s very modern now. I would miss the monkeys in the trees and the old men gathered in the coffee shops with their songbirds.
I'm kind of leaning toward:
Singapore Saga
Tales of Singapore
Tales from Singapore
Singapore Songs
because to my mind that evokes palm trees and rattan window shutters and rotating ceiling fans and using shady to imply more than 1 meaning of that word. Of course, my favorite is Singapore Sins! Inappropriate, I know, but it sounds mysterious and intriguing and good winning over evil. Hope I didnt totally miss your goal!
